The aroma of popcorn whafts it's way through the house. Ah Date night! Nothing like kids snuggly and warm in bed for the night, kicking up your feet and cuddling up with your sweetheart for a promising flick.
Suddenly from above comes a little voice, one that is hungry for the popcorn he can smell and for a chance to stay up late. What could he possibly say to get us to let him come down.......
"Mom, I have a problem"
"What's wrong Jake?" I reply.
"I can't hear out of one of my ears. I can only hear out of one of them."
Dad steps in sensing the scheme, "Alright buddy, why don't you get back in bed and go to sleep. If you still have a problem with it in the morning we can check it out then."
I worry, what if he is being serious....how easily I am duped!
"Um, dad, I don't know what you just said, I only heard half the words because only 1 ear can hear some of the words, but the other one didn't hear the other half because it is not working."
Now that is logic for you! Well, Jake's logic anyway!

Maybe my kids (and my husband for that matter) can only hear out of one ear because they only get about half of what I say! Funny story...Jake is too smart for his own good!
It does make sense!! LOL
