Our two 4 pounders!

Well today has been a long one, but pretty good. Let's start with Mallory. Today when I went in to try to nurse her it was very obvious that she had been dreaming and thinking about it and was ready when I got there. She opened up and latched right on right away. At first she was quite distracted by her big brother and daddy and wanted to listen to them and look at them, but after they left she took off. She nursed for about 30 min sucking the whole time. She did awesome with sucking, swallowing and breathing. I was so proud. She loved it. In fact when I switched sides on her half way through she cried and cried and cried. She was not happy until she started again. When she was done she smiled and slept. What a sweetie. When I came back later as soon as she heard my voice she woke up and started rooting. She wanted more. I will feed her again here in about 20 min. I am sure that she will be happy.

Jake got to hold Mallory today. He loved it. He sat in a chair and held her all by himself for about 10 min. He is such a proud big brother and can't wait until he gets her home to play!

Both babies are now 4 lbs. exactly. The news is that Mal will be in an open crib tomorrow. Then she will become aquainted with the world of fashion as she will get dressed everyday. She will love it I am sure. Dawson will not be going to an open crib for a little while longer, because PCMC does things a little differently. Which brings us to Dawson.

When it was Dawson's turn to eat today he was too tired because although I told his nurse that I would be back to feed him and that I wanted him to be awake, she decided to take him out just before I got there and hold him and wear him out herself. She told me that she couldn't resist. Well, I wish she would, Dawson needs to learn to nurse and this didn't help. Hopefully we will have better luck tomorrow. I will be doing everything I can tomorrow to get him moved to the U. He can go except they are holding him because he has his final bowel surgery in 4-6 weeks. I want them to put them together until then. It shouldn't be a big deal to them but it is extremely difficult for me. I have been here today for 10 hours and I have only done 2 of the four feedings that I am supposed to do. It will make for long days when I have to work between the two of them and change hospitals in between. Hopefully I will have good news in this area tomorrow.

Other than that Dawson continues to get fatter. He is now up to 25 ML's on his feeding and doing great. He is such a little sweet heart! They both are such a blessing. Well I have got to go feed my girl. I will let you know how things go tomorrow! Love ya'll.
