At about 8am, after sleeping in my Great Grandma's room with her, I would finally climb the stairs to the kitchen for breakfast. My Great Grandma and Grandpa Fenton would be waiting for me. And so would this.....
My Great-Grandma died when I was 14. When she died I got this. It was at my request. The little egg cooker. We still use it! It is well over 20 years old! I don't think I have seen it yet without thinking of Hard Boiled eggs with a bit of butter and a sprinkle of salt, for breakfast. Then the rest of the day filled with things like baking pies and rolls with grandma. Playing "house" in the trailer. Hanging laundry on the clothes line. Checking in on the garden. Picking apricots from the tree and sitting under it to visit for a while.
I miss my Grandma so much! She called me Dolly and I LOVED it!
I LOVE having something that brings all these fun memories to mind a lot!

Wow! I so remember that cooker.
Love it! Love her! Miss Itty Bitty Pies just my size!!
I am so thankful that you were able to have the same experiences that I did as a child. I bet it is uncommon to have a grandmother be able to recreate every fun moment as a great-grandmother. She was so awesome. This is one of the reasons I am so glad that I had children while I was young - it gave you a chance to know her and love her as much as I did! I miss her so much!! Thanks for this post Amy. It's always fun to revisit precious memories.
Love you,
MOM
