"Oh I'm A Lumberjack and I'm Ok"

Ryan is starting a new tradition for our little family. Last weekend he, Jake, Logan (his Brother) and Floyd (one of Ry's employees) headed up over Galena summit to try their hand at Lumber Jackin'.

They chain sawed, chopped, split and hauled all the wood they could for this trip. I think we ended up with 2 cords. Nice! Since Ry has a goal to not turn on the furnace even once this Winter, WE ARE GOING TO NEED IT!

Jake was all prepared. The beanie, the 6 in dagger hanging from his belt (Ry decided he is old enough for a knife. He now has 3! UGH!), hiking boats and a bit of excitement were all he needed.

They bought their permits, drove to their spot, started a fire to keep warm CAUSE IT WAS STINKIN COLD, then got to work. Then Jake crashed HARD! That work'll make you sleep like a baby!

What did I do.....I stoked the fire in my warm and cozy house and played with Mal & D, that's what I did. And I enjoyed it. Hopefully I enjoyed it enough, because according to Ryan next year we are ALL toughing it! Fun! :)

Ha!! Sounds like our hubbys have a few things in common. That is a goal Ryan likes to keep to.

Jake- what a handsome little guy.
