Is it just me or is "Back To School" week a little hectic?! Zip off to the school at 7:45am and next week we will add Bus for Dawson at 8am. Mallory at 10am. Dawson back home at 11:30am. Off to get some work done at the office. Mallory back home at 2pm. Jake off the bus at 3pm. Then it is on to homework, finish jobs, dinner, cleanup, scriptures and bed by 7am! OH MY!

Sometimes the biggest help can be a super quick, super easy, super yummy dinner!

Along with dinner, you will also win this cute little prize pack. It comes with a coupon for a free package of the Pillsbury Back to School Shape® sugar cookies, as well as a reusable lunch bag, and some great school supplies like a pencil case, ruler and sharpener.

I love homemade most, but sometimes there is nothing better than quick, easy & yummy! Plus, they are fun! Look at those cute little buses! I am FOR SURE going to keep these on hand for those days that the kids want a little treat! They are so simple, the kids could make them for themselves!

I know I will never forget those cute back to school pictures my mom would take of us on the first day of school! It's so fun to look back and see how much we have changed and the styles as well! I remember always thinking I looked so good, I look back on them now and wonder what I was thinking! So I continue the tradition with my own kids and hope one day they will look back and remember what school was like for them!

My FAVORITE thing about back to school time was that we'd get a new binder and school supplies. I would spend HOURS organizing my binder with sharpened pencils in the pocket and the dividers looking perfect. I love opening fresh packs of papers and having new pens that have lids still. We had to wrap our textbooks in brown paper bags and I'd spend hours decorating those too. I love everything clean and fresh and ready for a new year.

I actually have a memory of you on the first day of seventh grade, in the locker room of PE class. I don't remember much else, but I think it was the first time I ever saw you. Totally random memory!

Okay Amy. Do you remember my huge hair that I had from the 5th grade to 9th grade? Good job if you've erased it from your memory, but back to school time from 1988 to 1991 constituted me getting up extra early for the week before school started so that I could practice styling my ridiculous locks so that my bangs could reach the stratosphere. But that wasn't it. I would time it!! I wanted to be able to get the perfect amount of height and poof. It didn't stop there though; then I had to be able to redo the whole thing if heaven-forbid my hairspray gave out on me or we had high humidity that day or one of my two older sisters decided I didn't need as much time as they did infront of the mirror.

Back to school...why is it when I am busier...so much more gets done? during the summer we couldn't practice the piano..not enough time....not enough time to do gymnastics, or keep the house clean...but now it is just turbo speed through the day...and wow....I get so much done!!!

PS when I was growing up I got a 4 minute shower from 7:00-7:04. Breakfast was at 7:15 with scripture study until 7:30. 7:35 get in the orange truck with puke yellow door to go to school....if I was late...I walked. In Rexburg that was a fate worse than death...so I learned how to get ready....fast!!! (can you tell my dad was served in the Army?)

Mine was not on the first day of scool but a few weeks later. I was in 5th or 6th grade and recieved a pair of legwarmers, rainbow striped for my b-day. I wasn't quite sure how to wear them. When I got off the bus my two friends that gave them to me suddenly looked quite embarrased to be seen with me. What?? They are called "legwarmers." Aren't they supposed to be stretched from your ankles to your thighs to warm your legs?

I always loved picking out a new "pencil" box every year...do they even make those any more?!?

Every year my parents made us pose with these ridiculous signs telling what grade we were starting. I always thought it was so lame, but I am TOTALLY making my kids do it:)

by the way, you are famous...I just saw your picture on bakerella!

oh, and I am being completely annoying, but when you get a chance, can you email some pics of the vinyl I sent you. I have a friend that is wanting something similiar!

Lunchtime in Buhl, ID-my friends and I ran out the back door of the H.S. and down the hill-they kept running, I bit it on my face! Everyone saw! So embarrassing-I went straight home and stayed there the rest of the day.

I remeber every day I would walk by the lockers of all the boys I had crushes on, just to see if they were there that day and see what they were wearing. I know I am a nerd right???

I do remeber you and Jessica Taylor having a how high can I get my bangs competition all through 8th grade. That was ridiculously funny. HAHAHAHA!!!

Yay for Asian supplies! Brian loves to use chopsticks. That set would be fun! I remember my first day of school in my Senior year of high school. Ofa said that on the first day of school she would wear the oldest pair of jeans that she had with an old white shirt. I think I tried it and was surprised to find that nobody even noticed my clothes weren't new. Her philosophy was that you should wait to wear your cute stuff for when people actually notice.

I don't have alot of memories of my own first days of school. I know there wasn't a big deal made about them like there is now. Back then we were just sent off to school. There wasn't all the pictures and parents at the school to witness it. I DO remember the new clothes though. That was always fun.

My main first day memories were with my own children. There were always pictures and new things like clothes, backpacks, pencil boxes and folders with just the right thing on the cover to express that child's individual personality. For several years I was so involved with PTA that the first day of school included me going to the school and helping wherever I was needed.

My oldest child started his first day of school almost thirty years ago. By the time I'm done I will have experienced 40 years of "first days" when Parker enters 12th grade. That's alot of first days!!! I think I deserve to win this thing. :o)

I'm with Jill, I loved to get a new pencil box! Oh, I had to have a "trapper keeper". I loved getting a few new outfits and new school shoes. Now that I'm a mom, I'm even more excited to get those fun new things for Maya!
