The Power Within...

Have you seen this?!
When we were in Utah we got to go to this exhibit, and when I say we got to go, I mean we paid $22 per adult and $16 per kid! They didn't charge us for Mal and D. But still...YOUCH! So was it worth the outrageous price...YES!
Before going we told Jake what he was going to see. Every detail of every body. We told him that the people had died and donated their bodies to science. We asked him to not think about it in a gross way, but to really focus on the CREATION part of our bodies. The MIRACLE they are and the way our Heavenly Father created us.
I have to say it was AMAZING. They spend years pulling the muscles slowly into position. Positions that would be realistic for a girl doing a backbend on a balance beam, a camel eating grass, a woman shooting an arrow with her bow, a man doing gymnastics.
Another favorite part was the baby exhibit. Seeing a baby at 8 weeks gestation, it's fully developed face about the size of the tip of my pinky at 10 weeks, all amazing! We had a moment at the 27 week gestation baby. "That's how small they were" playing over and over in my mind as I remember just 3 1/2 years ago when MY babies were born at 27 weeks. WOW!
There was a lot to learn. A lot to see. However, the impression that stuck with me was the thought of our spirits.
How can these muscles, tendons, nerves, veins, etc all create a person with thoughts, feelings, likes and dislikes, personality... it is the latest hot topic among scientists.
The power of our spirits is amazing! It put things into perspective. We are told our whole lives to "put off the natural man". Our flesh desires stimulation of any kind. Our spirit knows it's purpose. It's Mission.
The goal is to realize that our spirit IS stronger. Our body must do what our spirit directs. Our spirit is who we are. Having the line between the two drawn so clearly was eye opening. Spiritually speaking.
If you ever get the opportunity to go see this, DO! You will LOVE it!

I wanted to go to that SO BAD when we were in Utah. But because of the crapped time schedule and my small wallet, we did not. Hopefully they will come to Iowa sometime so we can see it... I want to know how Jake liked it in the end!
