ANSWERED PRAYERS

There are few things in this life that I ABSOLUTELY CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT and this would be one of them!
I love this little boy more than life! AND I am happy to report that after 10 LONG months...he is HAPPY and HEALTHY!

A lot of you know that he has been struggling with his weight (19 lb. 3 year olds...NOT GOOD), he had HORRIBLE diarrhea since December of last year. Sure, he had his moments of smiles, but nothing like he used to be. There was mostly crying.

About a month ago everything got worse...A LOT WORSE. He wasn't sleeping AT ALL, his little bum was so raw, he cried or wimpered constantly and didn't want to be touched AND he was really struggling with pressure sores. HE WAS MISERABLE!

We had gone to the doctor or called her several times, but this time was different. His condition was so extreme, it was easy to diagnose. STARVATION! Do you have any idea how THAT feels! We fed him just like we were supposed to but NOTHING would stick. Within minutes he pooped it right back out! He had reached a point where he didn't even have enough calories to fall asleep!

So we tried some different things working with GI at Primary Childrens Hospital. It made him worse, if you can believe it! Then with my doctor out of town for a week and HONESTLY every other doctor I called telling me they don't want to touch it. NICE! I had to do something!

One thing that we have ALWAYS known is that D is in the Lord's hands. Always has been, always will be. So who better to tell me what he needs. As a mother I rely completely on my relationship with him. There are just moments when you hit your limit and you have to put it in His hands. And do you know what? He takes over!

We put Dawson back on his old formula (he is allergic to EVERYTHING and fed through a tube in his stomache), gave him 3 oz of straight rice cereal, just thin enough to go through the tube, 3 times per day. Then we pushed hard for PROBIOTICS, the good bacteria.

AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW! The kid has put on 5 lbs in the last 2 weeks, he has BUM CHEEKS, and feels like a stinking brick! Not only that, he is RIDICULOUSLY happy again! He laughs or smiles almost constantly. He is getting stronger and looks better than ever! His teacher even called me the other day to tell me that his appearance is so much better and that every day he comes in looking better and better and he continues to get stronger and stronger!

WHAT A BLESSING!

I can't get enough of his belly laugh! I LOVE THIS BOY!

You are such a wonderful mother. He is so lucky to have you as a mom! What a litte cutie!! It's amazing the things that can happen once you put it in the lords hands. I don't think I do that as often as I should. I should learn from your example.

Love the laugh--nothing like a good 'belly laugh' to put a smile on your face! Thanks Amy for being an inspiration to many!

So cute! His face when Jake says "ready, set, go" is just pure anticipation for the blinds to be pulled. That cracks me up. I love him.

Amy,

This is such good news. We know what a struggle it has been. Seeing Dawson happy is a miracle in and of itself.

Love you all,
Dad and Sondi

You win the mother of the year award in my book, hands down, no questions asked! You and Dawson (and Ryan I guess :) are a match made in Heaven, way to never give up until you find the answer!
