Sledding at the Becks!

Some friends of ours in our ward live up on a hill side and we have heard that every year they have quite the sledding hill, tunnel and all! Last night we got to experience it! It is quite intense and very intimidating your first time down, especially in the dark! Let's give you the tour!

This is Jake and I on the tube sitting on top of the hill. They pile snow up into a hill that is maybe 20 ft high or so. You climb to the top then sit down and make the almost straight down drop! You then go about 100 yards, faster than you have ever gone on a tube, but that is just the beginning!

Now it is time to go through the tunnel. Once we have a little more snow this will be a snow tunnel. This is Jake cruising through on his own. I was a little suprised at how willing he was to do all of this by himself. He had the time of his life!

Once you are out of the tunnel you hit another ledge, catch a little air and head down for another steep drop and sail about 200 yards to the bottom where we were picked up by Gary Beck in a little snow machine buggy thing and hauled back to the top.

Jake wants to go everyday for the rest of the winter! I am sure we will head out many more times. If anyone wants to come visit Monday nights are always family night at the Becks! That would be a great time! Posted by Picasa

Can I come to the hill, too? That is my dream hill! Tell Jake he needs to go down once just for "grandma" Horch!!
I am green with envy.
