So this year we decided with some friends to do a progressive dinner. We started at our friends, the Norris', house with appetizers. Then we moved to the Rands' house for soup and scones. Since we live right next door we just brought the dessert over and stayed there. Between houses we hit a couple of streets for Trick or Treating. Ryan and I realized that Jake has never really gone real Trick or Treating. For his first few years we only went to grandparents houses. Since there were 7 houses to hit, that is usually all we would do. Then there were trunk or treats, when we lived out in the country, because well, there were only 2 houses by us and you would have to walk a mile to get to them.
Jake LOVED running from house to house! He loved that it was just that easy to get someone to give him some candy. How funny! It made me think of days when we were younger. I remember the first time Clint came home with a pillow case full. He had gone trick or treating in Blackhawk (a subdivision in P.G.), HE HAD WHOLE CANDY BARS!! The next year, I wonder if my mom knows this, Jessica Taylor and I, maybe only 10 or 11 walked the 4 or so miles from our house to Blackhawk. We didn't really know where Blackhawk was and got a little lost. We didn't even really end up with a lot of candy because we just wondered around looking for the right neighborhood, then walked all the way back home. How funny!
Have I told you lately how much we are loving living here? We love this place. We have such a good ward and have made such good friends. Every weekend, and sometimes weeknights (when Ryan isn't teaching school, which is every Tues. and Thurs.) we love getting together and playing games with everyone. We love living in this area because there is always something going on. If you just pick up the paper you can choose from several different fun things happening in the area, that you can do, every single weekend all year. What a fun place to live!!
Anyway, back to our party.....
Jake is the cutest little construction worker! He is standing by two of his friends Callie (6) and Sydney (3)Norris.
OK, we totally didn't dress the babies up. Just so you know. They didn't really care and I didn't really want to spend the money. When they can appreciate dressing up they will get too.
This is just my cute, sweet, stubborn little girl. She refuses to stand for me right now because she thinks I will make her try to walk. She is kind of hard to do therapy with. There is nothing we can do to make her stand. It has to be all her idea. If we are far from her, great! She will stand all day, but when we come close and try to touch her, down she goes. NO ONE WILL MAKE HER DO ANYTHING SHE DOESN'T WANT TO DO! She seriously gets this from Ryan :)
Isn't this funny?! If you have ever watched Nickelodeon you can truly appreciate this. I have seen this show once, but our friends kids nailed the parts. Check out that little "Sporticus"!! He looks just like him! How Funny!

You know when a mom wonders if her daughter might have a child just like her? Wellllll, this is kind of funny. Be patient. She comes by it naturally :)
OH MOM, from the time Mallory was first born, when she was only just below 3 lbs and wiggling out of her CPAP, when she was pulling her nasal canula out evertime the nurse turned her back, and just about everday since then, I have been bracing myself!!
Everyday I am more and more sorry for times like the Blackhawk thing, or when I took Lisa and instead of walking straight home from school we walked to the Lindon park, when I was only in Grade School. Oh my word, I would DIE if Jake didn't come straight home from school!
Seriously, I am terrified. The scariest part of having a child just like you, is that you know what their thought processes are. OH MY!!
MOM.....I AM SORRY SORRY SORRY!! :)
