When we were at feeding therapy his therapist said that she would like to have him sit up in a chair and feed himself some finger foods. Well, I really wondered if she remembered Dawson at that point. Surely if she did she would know that he can't hold up his head, can't sit up, hates texture on his hands and in his mouth, and he can't see very well and wouldn't really be able to see in order to pick these things up. This just goes to show you that I needed to repent for holding my son back.

Sure enough we got there and she sat him in a highchair, packed towels around him to help support him a little then sat out some bananas. After a bit of work I am proud to report that by the end of the session he had picked up a banana himself and put it in his mouth, chewed it up and swallowed it!

This is now one of our favorite things to do at home. He loves bananas and is willing to do the work to get them. He is getting so strong!! Posted by Picasa
