A High....and then a low......thank goodness for Faith

Well first things first. Dawson is amazing! He is now taking most of his feedings from a bottle and gets about 90mls and has taken a few full bottles. He is such a good boy!

This morning I went to "rounds". This is where the doctor and nurses sit together and discuss what he is doing and where he is going. Today the plan was made for him to go home with us on Monday! That is like 2 days!

I got home (Ronald McDonalds) and his nurse called me to tell me that he has another fever. It is at about 101 F. They have done some blood tests and he is on antibiotics. Nothing has shown up in his blood tests, but we are waiting for the one that takes a couple of days. If he still has a fever tomorrow Neuro Surgery will come and take a sample of his Cerebral Spinal Fluid and do a test on it to see if the problem is in his shunt. If there is an infection in his blood they will have to take the shunt back out and wait and do the surgery to put it back in in about 2 weeks. That puts us out another month.

We will keep you all updated! I am sorry that there is not any pics yet. We don't have a fast enough connection to load them on so we will try tomorrow at Ryan's moms house. They are worth the wait! He is so cute!

One thing to remember is that there is nothing that will happen to Dawson that the Lord does not want to happen. Everything has a purpose, even when we don't know what it is. We have to trust the Lord! Dawsons' last infection, that caused me some grief, was such a blessing. It was the Lord's way of helping Dawson. The shunt was malfunctioning in a way that no one knew. Dawson was not able to suck, and sometimes seemed extrememly lifeless, especially in his eyes. Removing the shunt and putting a new one in has saved him. He is now a really good eater and is Mr. Bright eyes. He looks so much better. I will post a pic and you can compare it to the earlier ones in the collage I did a few weeks ago. What a difference! I can't wait until this is over, but for now we will trust the Lord and hang in there!

We love you!
