Ok, I got a bit of bad news today. The nurse called me to tell me that Dawson's food is not leaving his stomache. They don't know why. They are trying to rule out a couple of bad things that might need surgery and so far they don't think he has any of them. His NG tube has been changed to an NJ tube. This means that the tube goes up his nose, down his throat, through his stomache and a little ways into his small intestine. They figure that it is best to just bypass the stomache all together until they know what is up.
Yesterday they started him on some medicine that was supposed to make the food move through quicker. They stopped it today because it could cause one of the things that they are trying to rule out. He was cleared the other day of the entero virus and they just had a culture come back positive for it. He is back in isolation.
This brings us to more bad news. We were with Dawson all weekend. Mallory has now been up screaming like crazy for awhile. I took her into the doctor today and she is pretty sure that this is what Mal has. It is acting like a stomache flu to her. She throws up a lot and screams like crazy because her tummy hurts her. It is very sad. We will just bare through it for the next few days.
The worst news of all is that Dawson will not be able to come home for about another month! I hate this more than I can possibly explain. It makes my heart hurt so much! I can't see my boy and it is making me crazy!
I talked to our pediatrician. She is also a doctor at the NICU at our hospital here. She is going to contact PCMC tomorrow and we are going to see if, once surgery is ruled out and it is just sit and wait, maybe we can ship him up here to the NICU. It is only about 10 min. from my house and that would be such a blessing! We will have to wait though. We don't want to jump the gun. We also have to see if our insurance will cover the transport. We will keep our fingers crossed!
So today kinda stunk! Hopefully we can get better news in the next few days. COnsidering the fact that I was expecting to go and pick him up on Friday I am kinda really disappointed.
I will let you know when I know more. I have to go and take care of my upset little girl.

That makes me so sad. Poor little guy. I hope you can move him closer. That would help your heart a bit!

Yeah, I miss him so bad!! He is such a cute and very sweet baby. My hands are totally tied. What can I do?!
I can't keep driving back and forth with Mallory, it is too hard on her and I can't leave her with anyone sick. It all just stinks, hopefully we will get him home soon!
How is your new house Claudia? Are you moved/moving in yet? Courtney said you have a craft room. I AM SO JEALOUS!
