Sweet Success

Well, today was a successful one. Dawson is now off of CPAP and is back on a nasal cannula and doing great. He is also now off all medications except his pain meds whenever he needs it, which is rare, and IV fluid to keep up with his nutrition. He is also starting to have bowel sounds. This means that his body is almost ready to start eating again. They are thinking that he could be ready as early as 2 days from now. What a blessing. He is healing so fast!

Mallory had a great night last night with her eating. She took a bottle and out of her 53 MLs she gets she took 48. Then on her next bottle she took 40, then at 8:00 this morning she took 35 and did great. She slept through her 11:00am feeding but woke up for me at 2:00 and nursed. She got about 25MLs from me, which is good. At 5:00 tonight I gave her a nice long bath and she loved it. I took all of the tape and the tubes off of her face and it was just Mal. She is so darn pretty. She loved her bath and pooped all over the place when she was done. She is such a sweetie. I wore her out and when I gave her a bottle for her feeding she tried really hard, but after 10 MLs she just couldn't keep her eyes open. This is all really good news. She is just doing wonderfully and will only get better I am sure.

Both of the babies are working hard to go home. 2 babies went home today from Mallory's room and it made me excited to think that before long we will be taking BOTH of our babies home. What a blessing!!
