Finally another post, with pictures...
This is their old private Suite back at the U of U. I don't think they'll be going back to this room, because hopefully they'll be going back to room 3, 4, or 5. (The blankets on the babies beds were lovingly made by Courtney Price and Claudia Horch with, I am sure, some help from Mallory Horch, all of the nurses love them and so do we! Thanks so much guys!! Love, Amy)
Jake and Dawson waaaaaay back when he was still at the U of U. Sorry, but most of these pictures are a few days old. My guess is, you won't mind so much.
He sure sleeps good. He definitely got that from Amy.
This is how they transport the babies from the U of U to Primary Childrens. If you look close you can see his little peepers cracked open.
Just like a ride at the fair, but 2 tickets won't get you on this one.
Yeah, they have good drugs at the Intensive Care Unit. 2 tickets won't get you on them either.
Well, this is the most recent picture. All the surgeries are done, and from here on out it's just gettin' fat(we hope).
Mallory...unplugged!
...and plugged back in...the story of her life.
She was all smiles this day...between pictures anyway.
"AAAaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh"
...and "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" again.
This is the most recent piture of Mallory. The kids really are cuter than any picture could ever show! I promise!
Yeah, I may have big hands, but she's still pretty small.
(By the way, the pictures and superfluous commentary are by Ryan, the following pertinent information isn't.)
Hey everyone. Sorry it has taken us a few days to get a post up. Dawson is doing great and breathing on his own again. The nurse said that he has develped a bit of an attitude and he squawks (not cries) at them when they come over to bother him. He also is doing it to let them know that he is hungry! He finally has bowel sounds!! This is very good. They will probably start feeding him in the next few days, I am sure that he will be happy about that. Other than that he is just plugging right along, working hard to get his body all healed so that he can come home soon. He is 3lbs. 3 oz. We are so proud!
Mallory is also doing well. The other night she was having what they call A's & B's, which are apnea (not breathing) and bradycardia (slow or dropped heart rate) spells. They were concerned about the fact that she was having a lot of them and some were pretty bad. They intibated her. They found out in the morning that the problems were caused by low red blood cell count. Poor girl didn't have enough energy to breathe on her own. They gave her a blood transfusion and tonight they are extubating her and putting her back on the nasal cannula. She is almost up to full feedings again and weighs about 3lbs. 5oz. What a good girl. She is getting chubby!! I know that just over 3 lbs. doesn't really seem chubby to anyone else, but I can see a little chub coming around her legs and cheeks and chin and I love it!
I am in Idaho and planned to return this weekend with Ryan, however, I have a sweet little boy at home that is really needing his mommy. I will be staying here for another week and will go back next Thursday. By then the babies will be ready to learn to nurse and will hopefully be on the downhill swing of things (they will be 34 weeks and hopefully only have at the most 6 weeks left before they can come home).
Jake is doing really good. He is a tough little boy. This has been a little hard on him. I think that not knowing that there will be an end to all of this is hard for him. He also said that he really wants to change the babies diapers but not the poopy ones, and feed them and hold them. I think us reassuring him that that will happen soon is good for him. I also went with him to school today so he could show me where he sits and all of fun things he does. I think that this really helped him and we are going to have a problem free day tomorrow. For all of you who know Jake here is a funny thing about him. His teacher talked to me and told me that he is a very quiet little boy and just does all that he is asked to do and sings, and participates, but is just really quiet. I asked him later about him being quiet, I was worried that it might be because of all of this other stuff we have going on. He just said, "Mom I have to be quiet so that I don't get in trouble and have to move my clothespin to red." Apparently they have a traffic light board and if they are disobedient in class they have to move it from green to yellow and then to red. I have no idea what happens when you get to red, but I don't think we are going to find out. What a good boy!
Well, I will try to be better at updates and I will have to get Ryan working on the pictures. There are some really cute ones. Thanks for all of your prayers and support!
Love, The Lindstroms

Hello~
I came across your blog by doing some good ole blog surfing. Your babies are soooo precious! Congratulations! It looks like they are doing so well, how wonderful!
That "life flight" thing is amazing!!! It gave me chills to look at it. They sure takes extra special care of these precious baies don't they?
My heart goes out to Jake. Kindergarten is such a hard thing anyway, let alone having to do it without ALL of the support you are so used to. He is so cute. I loved the picture of him with his hands touching one of the babies. I bet he is so gentle.
Mallory's only help was keeping the girls out of our hair :)
They look FAB and Mallory is starting to look more like Jake and Ryan in these... it's hard for us moms who want so badly to take credit for something in our children :)
Just teasing Amy! I'm sure you'll protest!
Excuse me, Courtney. I did help with the blankets. I put in pins and I did all of the tying on Mallory's blanket. You are not the super star you thin you are!
Mallory Horch
Way to put the smack down Mal!!
Thanks for your note at my house on the white board. You are a great girl and we love you a ton. We hope our Mallory follows in your footsteps!
