SOOOOOO, I made a little phone call or two and talked Jana & JoJo into pulling MASON and TYLER out of school for the week (their Spring Break isn't until April) and we drove to Utah to get them last night. The boys are SO excited! They will be here for 8 DAYS! {Heaven Help Us}
Today on the trip home the boys were ansy. SO, what better opportunity to start our ADVENTURE off right than Hill Air Force Base Museum?! It was a hit!
(All pics taken with my phone. Sorry for the fuzzies)
This plane is my fave! It is dumbfounding to me. It defies all logic to know that thing can fly! It is unbelievably huge.
Mason really enjoyed everything about this place. We picked out a favorite inside the museum and then later met the pilot of that plane. He flew it during Vietnam. The boys were amazed. After the story tellin' the two older pilots gave the kids their "WINGS" in the form of a cute little sticker.
Mallory wore hers with pride.
Dawson wore his with confidence....
Did you know this jet can go 2,000 mph?! (Not talkin bout the wheelchair people...look at the next picture) Is that nuts?! It could fly from London to New York in just over an hour! Then, because we have a mathmatical genius {TYLER} with us, we had to figure out how fast per minute (34 miles) and per second (1/2 mile). CRAZY!
This jet would have been the answer to the problem Tyler found with the LONG drive home. 5 hours vs. 10 min....hmmm, I think he would have gone EASILY for the second option. As it were, I was fresh out of S71's and we were left to fly low at a much less impressive speed.
Thank goodness for technology. Mal fell asleep to the sound of "Meet the Robinsons-es-es-es", the boys were entertained by 2 gameboys and a Nintendo DS, Ryan played some Pirate game on his laptop and I sang a multitude of songs all the way home...thanks to the CD player and much to Dawson's pleasure! It's nice to have one admirer! As long as I'd click my tongue or smack my lips somewhere in the mix he was content!

Amy, I'm so glad I found your blog. I haven't seen you in so long!! I just read through all your posts, and unfortunately I am at work while I read- I am almost in tears at the sweet spirit that fills your life, and the hard times you are facing! Your children are absolutely beautiful, what a perfect little family! Good luck in the next few weeks, you'll be in our prayers! Love ya!
I would like to know how much it costs to schedule that super fast plane for my next trip to Europe! It sounds much more pleasant than being stuck in a plane for 14 hours to get there!
I love that picture of D with that huge smile on his face. What a sweetie pie!
Can't wait to see what creative things you come up with...I'm totally sending my girls your way next track break :)
We're here for the week too. I'm looking forward to sleeping in every morning (even more than I normally do:) I can't wait to see the fun things you guys do.
