A TRIP PLANNED AND A SUPRISE SURGERY

OK, I have neglected our blog. I am sorry! I was terribly busy before coming to Utah. Our plan was to come for Neurosurgery check ups and just stay and visit for a week. Well, it started good but then Dr. Walker decided it was time to lengthen the catherter that goes into Dawson's heart. No biggie! Well, we dropped Mallory off at Grandma & Grandpa Salisbury's for some terrorizing :) and Dawson and I headed back for his surgery. This morning they started and all went well, until they did the check on his shunt to see if the valve was still OK. It wasn't. It was nearly plugged and Dr. Walker had to replace it all. Bummer!

This is Dawson's 23rd shunt revision, a detail the general surgeon was completely blown away by.Dawson is one tough little cookie.

Well, I better get back to him. I just didn't want you to feel that we were never coming back. We are. I am taking a lot of pictures and have plenty to post. I will get to that when I get a chance.

All is well, and we really can't complain, well except for Dawson, but he is plenty full of Morphine right now and well, who can complain when they can't even keep their eyes open long enough to care. :)

Talk to you all soon!
