Today has been a good day, although it is only 5pm and if I had not just looked out a window I would have thought that it was 3am. I got here this morning at 8:30am to feed Mallory, she did really well and got a full feeding on her own. She also took almost a whole bottle from me at 2:30 (she was a little tired to nurse and she wasn't hungry yet). If she takes at least 75% of a whole feeding they count that as being full so she can move on. We have one more feeding to go from me at 8:30pm, I will let you know how that and the feeding during the night goes tomorrow.

Last night I went to Babies R Us and got the babies a mobile. They are old enough that they get a little tired of just looking up at the ceiling and they need a bit of a change in scenery. This mobile is amazing. They did a ton of studies on babies brains while designing it. It is supposed to be excellent for a premature babies brain. Basically all of the little "circuts" need to be "wired" for the brain to process and function correctly. Everytime the baby gets certain stimulation it "wires" something the way it should be. Stimulation includes mothers voice, and touch, eating, feeling different textures, music, visual things, etc. Supposedly the most effective way to wire your babies brain is through classical music and visual stimulation. Anyway the mobile has it all. It was so funny this moring when I turned it on for Mal. She was laying on my lap with her head by my knees and we were going to do excercises (running her legs, jumping, and stretching her arms, all good for her brain) we set the mobile up over her and turned it on. She LOVED it! She waved her arms and stuck out her tongue and kicked her own legs while she watched and listened to it for about 15 min. It was so funny! She is turning into a newborn, as opposed to a preemie. It is great to see. I can't wait to show Dawson the mobile as soon as he gets in a crib.

Dawson is doing wonderful. He is still tolerating his feedings and pooping! I went over and loved his for quite awhile today. There are quite a few nurses that love him a lot and don't want to let him come back to the U. He should be moved back hopefully by Monday at the latest. They should do it tomorrow. He will be ready for it. They just can't seem to let him go. I don't blame them, he is so sweet and so fun to just sit and hold and love!

Well, that is all for now. I am going to go see Daws again then head back to feed and give Mallory a bath. Then I am off to bed so I can wake up and do another 13 hour day tomorrow.

Love You All,
Amy

I forgot to add the best part of my day: Courtney called me at 11:54-- she told me about all her zany adventures in Jerome. It just made my day! She's just so super cool. I can only think of one song that perfectly describes her, and that's "Canned Heat". She's incredible!

Oh, and Rachel, you are the cutest little sister ever! You are a great babysitter... Jake loves you!

All I needed was the love you gave,
all I needed for another day,
and all I ever knew...
only you.

YIKES! Courtney Ann! You are not allowed to impersonate me do you hear me?!

I wish to set forth a disclaimer.....anything that is said that sounds an awful lot like Courtney probably is! I didn't say that what she said isn't true, I mean I think that Courtney is great and all, for a Horch girl.

Beware!! Lest ye be dupped.
